Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW) Conducts Adolescent Girls Toolkits (AGT) for Young Girls in Sinjar

Sinjar, Iraq – May 2025 – HMOW proudly launched a new round of its Adolescent Girls Toolkits (AGT) initiative this May in Sinjar, aiming to empower and support young girls in the post-conflict region.
The AGT sessions are designed to equip adolescent girls with essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the challenges of adolescence. Through interactive workshops and peer-to-peer engagement, participants explored topics such as personal safety, health and hygiene, emotional resilience, self-expression, and leadership.
“This initiative is more than just training – it’s about creating safe spaces where young girls feel seen, heard, and valued,” said Dr.Nagham Hassan, the Executive Director of HMOW. “In a region that continues to rebuild from trauma and displacement, supporting adolescent girls is key to fostering long-term community recovery and gender equality.”
The program reached over17 girls aged 10-17 in Sinjar’s rural and urban communities. HMOW partnered with local educators, community leaders, and caregivers to ensure the content was culturally sensitive and relevant to the unique needs of Sinjar’s youth.
With ongoing support from CDCS and in partnership with PUI, HMOW plans to expand the AGT initiative to more areas in Sinjar throughout 2025.
